Job Summary
This is a leadership role overseeing the Hydraulic Engineering department, which currently consists of 14 employees, focusing on critical environmental projects like watercourse restoration, dike construction, pumping stations, well construction, waterways, fish passage facilities, and flood retention basins. The Head of Department will provide technical, commercial, and personnel leadership, managing project, organizational, and financial responsibilities. Key activities include customer relationship management, new project acquisition, reviewing planning services, and actively collaborating with the Division Management. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Hydraulic Engineering or Urban Water Management, possesses several years of leadership experience in the construction sector (preferably civil engineering/water management), and demonstrates strong negotiation skills, entrepreneurial thinking, and proven leadership competence. This position offers a long-term perspective in a stable industry, flexible working hours, and the option for hybrid work.
Required Skills
Education
Master of Science (M. Sc.), Diploma Engineer (Dipl.-Ing.), or Doctorate (Dr.) in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Hydraulic Engineering or Urban Water Management
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in a leadership role in the construction sector
- Preferred experience in civil engineering and/or (urban) water management
- Experience in managing planning projects (according to HOAI)
- Fundamental knowledge of HOAI (Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers), tendering, contract management, and VOB (German Construction Contract Procedures)
