Job Summary

The City of Göttingen is seeking an Electrical Engineering Specialist to manage complex electrical, safety, and lighting systems within cultural and special-purpose buildings, including historic, listed structures. This role involves independently executing new construction and renovation projects, integrating modern energy efficiency techniques and Building Information Modeling (BIM) to future-proof these sites. Day-to-day responsibilities include comprehensive maintenance management, fault diagnosis, ensuring economical and energy-saving operation, and creating technical instructions for operating personnel. The ideal candidate must hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, possess a strong sense of responsibility, creativity, and sensitivity towards cultural heritage, along with expertise in relevant DIN/EN standards, VOB, and HOAI regulations. This position requires external site visits within the city and occasional availability outside standard hours for presentations to political committees.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university of applied sciences or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Sciences with a focus on Electrical Engineering or a comparable specialization.

Experience

  • Professional experience in complex cultural building, renovation, or new construction projects
  • Practical experience with DIN/EN standards for electrical engineering and association guidelines
  • Experience in the field of conveying technology (desirable)
  • Experience in operating and maintaining electrical and safety systems
