Job Summary

This role is for a Geoinformation Systems Engineer at the Bundeswehr's Geoinformation Center in Euskirchen, focusing on the creation and development of map models, especially for specialized and custom maps. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing workflows, symbolization, visualization, and generalization processes for various map series and thematic content. Key responsibilities also include contributing to technical specifications for national and international map products, developing procedures for data model derivation, and evaluating GIS software tools. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor or Diploma FH) in Cartography, Geoinformatics, Geodesy, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in using GIS software, particularly ArcGIS Pro
  • Experience with geodatabases
  • Experience in data processing with Feature Manipulation Engine (FME)
  • Experience in the development of map products
  • Experience in generalization processes

Additional

  • Must be a German citizen for civil servant status. Willingness to undergo a medical examination. Willingness to undergo an extended security clearance (Ü2). Must not have completed 50th year of age at time of appointment for civil servant status (exceptions for employment contract possible). Willingness to undertake regular domestic business trips. Willingness to participate in regular and advanced training.
