Job Summary
This role seeks two dedicated Scientific Officers to contribute to the conceptualization and advancement of environmental education and sustainable development programs at the Frankfurt Zoo. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and implementing target-group-oriented educational offerings, guided tours, and workshops, incorporating the latest scientific findings in didactics. You will be responsible for planning and executing recurring formats like youth clubs and school collaborations, establishing educational partnerships, and contributing to foundational research in zoo didactics. A key focus is the conceptualization and analysis of information systems, including digital media and signage. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Zoology or a related scientific field and possesses several years of professional experience in environmental education. Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory, alongside a high degree of organizational skill and commitment. One of the two available positions includes the role of Deputy Head of Education and Outreach.

Completed scientific university degree (Master's) with a focus on Zoology or a comparable, relevant specialization
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in environmental education and education for sustainable development in a zoo or comparable institution
- Experience in developing workshops and teaching concepts, focusing on nature conservation
- Experience in building and leading teams, learning groups, and cooperation programs (preferred)
- Willingness to participate in specialized professional committees and associations
