Job Summary

This role involves supporting the critical IT infrastructure of the Regensburg wastewater treatment plant, focusing heavily on administration, security, and operational technology (OT) integration. Day-to-day tasks include managing servers, clients, Active Directory, and complex network infrastructure (VLANs, routing, firewall rules). A key responsibility is event and incident management, including monitoring systems, anomaly detection, and vulnerability analysis. The specialist will also handle changes to the Process Control Technology (PLT) IT infrastructure, ensuring system hardening, documentation, patching, and integration of new functions. This position requires a strong background in IT, specific experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) like SIMATIC S7/TIA Portal, and excellent problem-solving skills to analyze and troubleshoot industrial bus systems. The successful candidate must possess a relevant IT degree or equivalent experience and fluent German skills (C1 level) to effectively communicate and train others within this secure, public service environment.

Required Skills

Education

Completed University Degree (minimum Diploma [FH] / Bachelor) in IT or a related field; VCP VMware or comparable certification required.

Experience

  • Professional experience in server and client administration
  • Professional experience in network infrastructure administration
  • Professional experience in event and incident management
  • Multi-year practical experience in the configuration and programming of PLCs (SIMATIC S7, TIA Portal)
  • 2+ years of professional experience in a relevant IT environment (required if degree is non-IT related)
