Job Summary
This role involves operating and advancing critical database infrastructure, specifically managing Microsoft SQL Always-On Clusters (Windows) and PostgreSQL High Availability environments (Linux). The Database Administrator will be responsible for implementing and optimizing monitoring and alerting systems, performing system analysis, and troubleshooting to ensure continuous operation. Key duties include project support for IT database initiatives, comprehensive documentation, and consulting specialized departments on database implementation and operation. The ideal candidate must possess a degree or equivalent qualification in IT, coupled with several years of practical database experience and strong administration skills in MS SQL Server 2019+ and PostgreSQL. This is a crucial, permanent position within a growing public sector IT service provider in Reinfeld (Holstein).
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (Bachelor, Diploma) in IT or equivalent qualification (e.g., IT-specific qualification, completed vocational training as an IT Specialist, or comparable practical IT experience)
Experience
- Several years of practical experience in the database field
- Experience with SQL-Statements and scripts
- Experience in the administration of current Microsoft and Linux server operating systems
- Experience working and communicating in an interdisciplinary team
