Job Summary

This role involves contributing to the MorphoSphere project as a Scientific Researcher, focusing on advanced scientific data analyses and software conceptualization within an interdisciplinary research setting. Day-to-day tasks include applying expertise in scientific federated computing environments and modern programming languages like Python to complex research problems. The ideal candidate holds a Master's or PhD in a STEM field (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science) and possesses practical experience in research software engineering practices, including Git, unit testing, and containers. Success in this position requires autonomous working methods, strong communication skills, and the ability to drive interdisciplinary software projects forward, potentially involving high-performance computing (HPC) optimization.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed university degree (Master's and/or PhD) in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or a related field

Experience

  • Practical experience with scientific data analyses and relevant tools
  • Experience with research software engineering practices (git, unit testing, containers)
  • First experience with HPC / code optimization (Desirable)
  • Experience with experimental research methods for universe and matter (Desirable)
