Job Summary

This pivotal role involves establishing and leading the newly formed Specialized Requisition Service within the Swiss Army Logistics Base, transforming it into a modern platform essential for Switzerland's defense capabilities. The Head of Service will oversee all requisition processes, ensuring the timely provision of necessary resources, services, and infrastructure for the army. Key responsibilities include designing efficient, computer-assisted processes, managing the service's finances (budgeting, controlling, negotiations), developing legal and technical frameworks (directives, contracts), and leading critical projects. The ideal candidate holds a university degree (ideally an MBA/EMBA) in logistics, public management, or a related field, coupled with significant experience in management or project leadership within complex, security-relevant organizations. This position requires strong negotiation skills, process affinity, and mandatory high proficiency in multiple official languages.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (ES, HES, or University) in Operational Management, Public Management, Logistics, or similar field. Ideally, an MBA/EMBA in Operational Management, Leadership, or Public Administration.

Experience

  • Several years of experience in management or project leadership within complex or interdisciplinary security-relevant organizations.
  • Professional experience ideally related to logistics, acquisitions, or public administration.
  • Demonstrated expertise in negotiation, analysis, and leadership.

Additional

  • Active knowledge of a second official language (B2) and passive knowledge of a third official language (B1) are required. Must be willing to work 80-100% in Bern and participate in mobilization exercises.
