Job Summary

This leadership role involves spearheading the strategic and conceptual development of Mülheim an der Ruhr's overall climate policy and its operational implementation. The Head of Unit will coordinate the city-wide climate protection process, acting as the central point of contact for climate protection and adaptation topics for administration, politics, investors, and businesses. Key responsibilities include managing staff, controlling resources, reporting, and representing the unit to political bodies and the media. Candidates must possess a Master's degree in a relevant environmental or engineering field, coupled with experience in project management and a strong capacity for strategic and conceptual thinking. Required Skills

Education

Master’s degree or equivalent Diploma (University/Technical University, minimum 8 semesters) in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Geoecology, Geosciences, Landscape Ecology, Energy Sciences, Civil Engineering (with environmental focus), or Spatial Planning/Geography. Proof of foreign degree recognition is mandatory.

Experience
