Job Summary

This role is central to shaping the digital landscape and driving digitalization within the company by focusing on Artificial Intelligence. The Software Engineer will be responsible for evaluating, integrating, and prototyping AI services, ensuring competitive and sustainable IT solutions. Day-to-day tasks involve optimizing costs and latency, implementing robust security policies and guardrails, and acting as a sparring partner for Product Owners regarding feasibility studies (covering technical aspects, effort, data protection, and compliance). A key component of the job is continuous screening of emerging AI services, frameworks, and providers (like OpenAI and Anthropic), deriving actionable recommendations, and experimenting with AI-supported development workflows (e.g., Copilot). The ideal candidate holds a relevant degree (Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, or Physics) and possesses strong fundamental knowledge in cloud technologies, particularly Azure and/or SAP BTP, coupled with experience in developing AI prototypes.
