Job Summary

This Project Officer role is crucial for coordinating and managing the Trilateral Monitoring and Assessment Programme (TMAP) within the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat (CWSS), focusing on the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site shared by Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands. The successful candidate will act as the focal point for monitoring, assessment, and data handling, overseeing the development of TMAP and trilateral data management systems. Key responsibilities include coordinating the production of Quality Status Reports (QSR), advancing efforts on invasive species, and facilitating exchange between international expert groups, stakeholders, and the scientific community. The position requires a Master's degree in a relevant environmental or data science field, proven project management skills in an international context, and strong expertise in environmental data management, including GIS and database development. This temporary, full-time role offers a dynamic international environment in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, contributing significantly to transboundary nature conservation efforts.

Required Skills

Education

Master’s degree in ecology, environmental sciences, marine biology, conservation, computer science, or corresponding education

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in environmental monitoring and assessment, preferably in nature conservation at national or international level
  • Minimum of two years of professional experience in multidisciplinary data management at national or preferably international level
  • Proven project management and coordination skills, ideally in an international or transboundary context
