Job Summary
Furtwangen University is seeking a dedicated Post-Doctoral Researcher to join a BMBF-funded project focusing on the potential links between endometriosis and the human microbiome. The role involves performing NGS-based molecular microbiome analyses (metataxonomics, metagenomics, metatranscriptomics) on human samples and correlating these results with patient metabolome and health metadata. This research aims to improve endometriosis diagnosis and deepen the understanding of how the microbiome, metabolome, and enteric nervous system interact. The ideal candidate holds a PhD in microbiology, molecular biology, or related fields, possesses proven expertise in modern -omics research technologies, and has strong bioinformatic skills (R, Python, QIIME). This fixed-term position, based primarily in Villingen-Schwenningen, offers a unique opportunity for application-oriented human microbiome research within a dynamic, supportive academic environment.
