Job Summary

This role is an exciting opportunity for a Materials Testing Engineer to join the aviation industry, focusing on the analysis and validation of metallic aerospace materials. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing and evaluating materials in all states, from forged components to finished products, and validating material conditions after mechanical processing or specialized treatments like welding, thermal, and surface treatments. The engineer will introduce and monitor quality processes related to materials and special processes, support internal manufacturing and suppliers regarding Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), and advise various departments (manufacturing, development, purchasing) on materials and special processes. Key requirements include a degree (Master's or Diploma preferred) in Materials Engineering, fundamental knowledge of material processing, and fluency in both German and English, coupled with a strong quality mindset and willingness to travel.

Required Skills

Education

Completed University Degree (Master's or Diploma preferred) in Materials Engineering or with a focus on Materials Technology

Experience

  • Professional experience in materials processing, including the influence of machining and special processes on surface structure
  • Knowledge and experience in special processes such as welding, heat treatment, and surface treatments
  • Level III or experienced Level II Certification (EN4179/NAS410) in Non-Destructive Testing for fluorescent penetrant inspection and X-ray inspection (desirable)
