Job Summary

This role is for a Chemical-Technical Assistant to join a growing research team at the Medical University of Vienna, focusing on translational research related to metabolically associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD/MASH). The assistant will manage routine laboratory operations, including procurement of consumables, inventory management, and technical administration such as ordering spare parts, documentation, and quality management (QM) document handling. Daily tasks involve preparing reagents, coordinating maintenance reports for lab equipment, and assisting in the training of new staff. A significant part of the role involves executing and documenting cell and molecular biology techniques, including electrophysiological measurements, histology (H&E, immunohistochemistry), ELISA, Western Blot, RT-/qPCR, and flow cytometry. The ideal candidate holds a relevant high school diploma or equivalent qualification (such as a Bachelor's degree), possesses strong organizational skills, and is comfortable working proactively and conscientiously in a team environment, preferably with prior experience in a biomedical or clinical-experimental laboratory setting.
