Job Summary
The City of Ratzeburg is seeking a Civil Engineer, preferably specializing in Municipal Water Management, Environmental, or Wastewater Process Engineering, to join its municipal utility company. This role is crucial for managing the city's urban drainage division, which includes a 25,000 population equivalent wastewater treatment plant and extensive separate sewer systems (65 km of piping). Day-to-day responsibilities focus on prioritizing and executing sewer rehabilitation projects, modernizing technical facilities, developing investment plans, and optimizing energy usage towards self-sufficiency using renewable sources. Key qualifications include a degree in Civil Engineering (Underground Construction focus) or equivalent experience, ideally with knowledge of wastewater treatment, relevant regulations (HOAI, VOB), and the ability to work independently. The position requires participation in a technical on-call rotation (currently one week per month) and offers a stable public service job with opportunities for flexible hours and professional development.

- Multi-year professional experience in Municipal Water Management (desirable)
- Experience in wastewater treatment, sewerage, and sewer rehabilitation (ideally)
