The Materials Laboratory Technician independently conducts various material tests, including hardness testing (e.g., case, nitriding, induction hardness) and metallographic examinations, providing crucial data for quality assurance and manufacturing decisions. Key responsibilities include creating and validating testing programs, performing failure analysis on rejected components, and ensuring compliance with QM standards like ISO 9001 and IATF 16949. The ideal candidate holds a relevant technical qualification (e.g., Materials Testing, Metallography, or Technician certification) and possesses robust experience with various testing procedures such as spectral analysis, crack testing, and residual dirt analysis.
