Job Summary

This role involves executing, documenting, and ensuring the quality of materials testing within the automotive sector, supporting the production cycle from raw material inspection to final product release. The Materials Laboratory Technician independently conducts various material tests, including hardness testing (e.g., case, nitriding, induction hardness) and metallographic examinations, providing crucial data for quality assurance and manufacturing decisions. Key responsibilities include creating and validating testing programs, performing failure analysis on rejected components, and ensuring compliance with QM standards like ISO 9001 and IATF 16949. The ideal candidate holds a relevant technical qualification (e.g., Materials Testing, Metallography, or Technician certification) and possesses robust experience with various testing procedures such as spectral analysis, crack testing, and residual dirt analysis. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in Materials Testing, Metallography, Material Testing, Physics Laboratory Assistant, Chemical Laboratory Assistant, or Industrial Mechanic/Mechatronics Technician with relevant further training. Ideally, further training as a Technician (Materials Technology, Metal Technology, Physics) or equivalent qualification.
