Job Summary

The University of Erfurt is seeking an engaged Library System Support Specialist to manage and administer the library systems for the Erfurt University Library (UBE) and the Gotha Research Library (FBG). This role is critical for maintaining the current Local Library System (LBS) and providing technical support for the migration to the new FOLIO library system, working closely with the VZG-Göttingen and the FOLIO community. Day-to-day tasks involve system administration, developing and maintaining supporting applications and interfaces (e.g., for self-checkouts and payment machines), and automating internal processes using scripting and programming languages like Perl, JavaScript, and ShellScript. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Informatics or a comparable field and possesses several years of experience in administering library systems, particularly LBS4 or FOLIO, along with strong knowledge of SQL databases and Linux operating systems. This position offers an unlimited, full-time contract, flexible working hours, and the opportunity to shape the digital infrastructure for teaching and research within a collaborative university environment.
