Job Summary

This critical role as a (Lead) System Architect focuses on designing and implementing complex system concepts for advanced Satellite and Mission Control Segments. The architect will be responsible for developing diverse architectures tailored for various mission types, including Earth observation, environmental and situational awareness, and satellite-based early warning systems. A core function involves acting as the central technical interface, bridging communication between customers, project managers, and system engineers. Day-to-day tasks include defining system and operational scenarios, deriving technical solutions from high-level requirements, and ensuring secure and efficient data flows by analyzing technical interfaces. The ideal candidate brings a strong academic background in Aerospace Engineering or Physics, coupled with deep technical expertise in space missions, transmission technology, and sensor data processing. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, experience with SysEng tools, and fluency in German and intermediate proficiency in English to drive the realization of cutting-edge space concepts.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or comparable engineering/scientific qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in satellite and space missions
  • Experience with System Engineering (SysEng) Tools
  • Experience in preparing and presenting technical evaluations
