Job Summary

This leadership role involves the professional and disciplinary management and development of the Accounting team, encompassing both bookkeeping and controlling functions. The Head of Accounting is responsible for ensuring the timely preparation of monthly and annual financial statements according to HGB (German Commercial Code) and overseeing all controlling activities, including monthly reporting, such as target/actual analysis for cost centers, sales, and gross profit. Key responsibilities also include supporting budget creation and forecasting (P&L, inventory, and liquidity), continuously improving accounting and controlling processes, and serving as the main contact for tax consultants, auditors, and business examiners. The ideal candidate holds a commercial vocational qualification (e.g., tax specialist) or a business administration degree, supplemented by advanced training as a Financial or Balance Sheet Accountant, and possesses strong leadership skills, extensive professional experience in accounting, and excellent German language skills.
