Job Summary

This role is centered on driving digital technologies by focusing on the development, implementation, testing, and verification of complex digital circuits on FPGAs, primarily utilizing VHDL. The Development Engineer will be responsible for creating VHDL modules for complex real-time, communication, and control systems, implementing high-speed interfaces (such as Ethernet and PCIe), and integrating these designs into overall hardware and software systems. Key requirements include a completed university degree in engineering (e.g., Electrical Engineering or Computer Science) and extensive professional experience in FPGA development, VHDL, timing analysis, and simulation. Based in Ulm with hybrid work options, the position offers an unlimited contract and the opportunity to contribute expertise to innovative, security-relevant systems within a highly collaborative team environment.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Engineering Sciences (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical fields)

Experience

  • Extensive experience in FPGA development with VHDL
  • Extensive experience in testing FPGAs
  • Experience with Timing Constraints (SDC/XDC)
  • Experience with Pipelining and resource optimization
  • Experience with Verfication, Testbench development, and Debugging
  • Experience with specific AMD / Xilinx environments (Vivado, Vitis, Zynq, Artix, Kintex, Virtex)
  • Experience supporting commissioning, debugging, and series transfer
