Job Summary

This senior role involves defining and leading the medical strategy for a therapeutic area, specifically focusing on rare oncology or related rare diseases, aligning local efforts with global business goals. The advisor acts as the internal expert on disease biology and treatment landscapes, while serving as the primary liaison with local advocacy organizations and Patient Advisory Groups (PAGs). Key responsibilities include driving local medical projects, supporting company-sponsored clinical trials, developing compliant medical content, and representing the company externally at key healthcare meetings (like GBA/GKV-SV). The ideal candidate holds an advanced medical degree (MD, PhD) or significant clinical experience, coupled with extensive experience in Medical Affairs and a strong focus on patient engagement and communications strategies. This position requires fluency in both English and German and involves substantial domestic and international travel (30-40%).

Advanced degree in medical sciences (MD, PhD) or equivalent clinical experience

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Medical Affairs in rare oncology or related rare diseases
  • At least 3 years of relevant clinical experience, ideally with medical affairs and/or patient advocacy background
  • Proven experience in patient engagement and communications strategies for disease awareness and patient access
  • Relevant experience in G-BA assessments preferred
  • Field experience is an advantage
