This permanent, part-time position (60%) in Freiburg involves crucial work supporting the implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive (WRRL) within the regional government administration. Day-to-day responsibilities include the technical management of updating the WRRL management plan and measures program, providing support to local water authorities and maintenance providers during implementation, and overseeing monitoring concepts for functional and success control. A key aspect of the role is organizing and executing public relations activities within the designated area and handling specialized technical inquiries. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's or Diploma degree in Water Management, Environmental Science, or a related field, possessing strong foundational knowledge in aquatic ecology and water management issues, ideally backed by relevant professional experience. Success in this role requires independence, strong organizational skills, resilience, excellent communication, and teamwork abilities, alongside fluency in German and a Class B driver's license for necessary business travel.
