Job Summary
This role is for an IT Support Specialist to join the Siegen-Wittgenstein district administration, focusing on maintaining and digitizing the local government's IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the central IT systems, providing user help desk services, resolving IT issues within the administrative building, and managing cross-sectional applications like MS Office. Day-to-day tasks include setting up and configuring IT workstations, performing continuous maintenance, and assisting with minor budgetary tasks such as processing invoices. This is a part-time, fixed-term position (initially one year, 19.5 hours/week) requiring strong communication, problem-solving skills, resilience, and a cooperative, service-oriented mindset to support a modern, digitalized public administration.
Required Skills
Education
Completed three-year IT apprenticeship or equivalent skills and experience (e.g., any completed apprenticeship combined with relevant professional experience)
Experience
- Professional experience in IT support activities (required if not holding a 3-year IT qualification)
- Multiple years of professional experience in the specified area (if holding a non-IT qualification)
- Minimum five years of professional experience in the specified area (if using experience in lieu of formal education)
