The Municipality of Wiefelstede is seeking a dedicated Head of Department to lead the Roads, Paths, and Public Spaces division within the Community Development sector. This full-time, permanent role involves managing a small team of two employees and overseeing all municipal civil engineering projects, from initial planning to construction execution (new builds and maintenance). Key responsibilities include comprehensive construction project management, acting as the client representative, coordinating all planning and construction stakeholders, and preparing documentation for political committees. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor, Diplom-FH) in Civil Engineering, Construction Project Management, or comparable qualification (e.g., Industrial Engineering) with a focus on civil engineering; alternatively, a State-certified Technician in Construction Technology with a focus on civil engineering.
Experience
- Professional experience in civil engineering or construction project management
- Experience in managing all service phases according to HOAI (German Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers)
- Experience in preparing documentation for political committees
- Leadership experience (Advantageous)
