Job Summary

This role offers a long-term perspective within the defense industry, working for a major corporation, Rheinmetall. The Materials Tester will primarily focus on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), specifically radiographic testing (RT). Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating, executing, and evaluating X-ray examinations, managing hazardous components and explosives, and setting up complex testing configurations. A key part of the role involves the timely and organized processing of radiographic tests, analyzing data and images, generating detailed test reports, and performing preventive maintenance on X-ray systems to ensure high system availability. Candidates should have a background as a Materials Tester, Electrician, Mechatronics Technician, or Industrial Mechanic, coupled with specific knowledge in digital image processing, NDT standards, and radiation protection.

Required Skills

Education

Completed apprenticeship/training as a Materials Tester, Electrician, Mechatronics Technician, Industrial Mechanic, or comparable qualification. Certification in RT-F and RT-D Level 2 according to EN ISO 9712 is desirable.

Experience

  • Professional experience in operating software for controlling X-ray systems
  • Professional experience in applying testing and measurement methods
  • Professional experience with NDT standards for radiographic testing
