Job Summary

This permanent position in Schkopau, Germany, seeks a highly skilled Research Specialist to advance sustainable synthetic rubber production. The core responsibilities involve simulating complex chemical reactions, developing kinetic and reactor models for polymerization, and executing process simulations using specialized software like Predici, ASPEN, GProms, and Fluent. A key function is developing efficient computer models to scale up new synthetic rubber types from laboratory to pilot and production facilities. The role requires leading projects focused on process optimization, applying robust project management principles, and ensuring thorough technical documentation. Candidates must hold a Master's degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering or Technical Chemistry, possess significant relevant experience in the chemical industry, particularly polymer chemistry, and demonstrate expertise in statistical experimental design (DoE). Required Skills

Education

University or college degree (Diploma, Master) in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Technical Chemistry. A completed doctorate (Ph.D.) is advantageous.

  • In-depth knowledge of creating computer models for analyzing and simulating chemical reactions, specifically in polymer chemistry
  • Experience in planning, execution, and evaluation of experiments
  • Experience applying methods of statistical experimental design (Design of Experiment)
  • Experience leading projects for process and procedural optimization
