Job Summary

This role is with a global, family-run automotive supplier specializing in high-precision structural components and body assemblies. The Senior Engineer will be critical in ensuring material quality and optimizing forming processes for innovative solutions, acting as a full-service partner to the automotive industry. Day-to-day responsibilities include the advanced analysis of stamping defects, such as cracks and fractures, using methods like microscopy, microhardness testing, and Forming Limit Curve (FLC) analysis to determine root causes (material vs. process). You will act as the technical interface with steel mills and suppliers, translating internal quality demands into actionable specifications, and qualifying new material grades like AHSS and DP steels. Success requires a degree in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering and at least five years of related experience in a steel mill environment, coupled with deep expertise in physical metallurgy and formability principles.
