Job Summary
This role involves acting as an Environmental Permitting Specialist, primarily focusing on regulatory compliance under the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) and the Ordinance on Installations for Handling Substances Hazardous to Water (AwSV). Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and managing complex permit applications, coordinating approval processes, liaising extensively with governmental authorities and clients, and consulting on operational environmental protection issues, specifically cross-media immission control. Key tasks also include drafting safety reports and accident concepts and accompanying environmental inspections. The ideal candidate holds a degree (Bachelor, Master, or Diploma) in Technical Environmental Protection, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, or possesses relevant professional experience, coupled with strong knowledge of environmental law and immission control. Required Skills
Education
Completed degree (Diploma, Bachelor, or Master) in Technical Environmental Protection, Environmental and Process Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Technology and Resource Management, or equivalent.
Experience
- Professional experience in environmental permitting or regulatory compliance (if degree requirement is not met)
- Experience in consulting on operational environmental protection issues
- Experience in preparing application and notification documents for facilities
- Experience in coordinating with clients and regulatory authorities
- Experience in creating and revising safety reports and accident concepts
