Job Summary

This role seeks a highly skilled Scientist specializing in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or Analytical Chemistry to join the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Berlin. The successful candidate will contribute to a key European project focusing on metrology for genomic profiling to support early cancer detection and precision medicine. Day-to-day responsibilities include applying and optimizing quantitative molecular biological measurement techniques such as qPCR, dPCR, and immunoassays, developing nucleic acid extraction methods, and designing assays. A crucial component of the role involves rigorous data analysis, calculating measurement uncertainty, and conducting ring trials for calibration and comparison. The scientist will also be responsible for the scientific guidance of technical and student staff and must present and publish research findings. This position requires a Master's degree and significant professional experience in a molecular/biochemical lab, specifically handling Biosafety Level 2 materials and hazardous substances, coupled with fluency in both German and English (C1 level).

Experience
