Job Summary

The Municipality of Kürten is seeking an engaged Energy Manager to lead the implementation and establishment of a state-funded municipal energy management system. This critical, three-year fixed-term project aims to significantly reduce communal CO2 emissions and ensure sustainable financial relief for the municipal budget. Day-to-day, you will be responsible for setting up software-supported energy controlling, conducting building-related benchmarking, and creating regular energy reports for political committees. Key tasks also include developing an emission strategy/renovation plan, managing external service providers, and planning and executing energy efficiency projects. The ideal candidate holds a university degree (Bachelor/FH Diploma) in a technical field such as Energy/Building Technology or Environmental Technology and possesses knowledge of municipal energy management systems (e.g., DIN EN ISO 50001). This role requires self-initiative, teamwork, and the ability to drive resource-saving practices for the community's benefit.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (FH Diploma/Bachelor) in a technical field, preferably Energy/Building Technology, Supply Engineering, or Environmental Technology, or comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in data management and energy controlling
  • Desirable knowledge in municipal energy management or comparable systems (e.g., DIN EN ISO 50001)
