Job Summary
This critical role involves protecting sensitive information within the Cologne Public Prosecutor General's Office, particularly supporting IT projects for the Central and Contact Point for Cybercrime North Rhine-Westphalia (ZAC NRW) and the Cologne Center of the European Public Prosecutor's Office. Day-to-day responsibilities include handling, analyzing, and resolving information security incidents, and continuously developing and updating security concepts based on BSI and ISO 27001 standards. The specialist will also guide IT projects, especially system and product introductions, focusing on security compliance. A key part of the role is initiating and conducting awareness training on information security and data protection, alongside planning and implementing emergency preparedness (disaster recovery). The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, possesses strong knowledge of relevant security standards, and demonstrates excellent cooperation and communication skills to drive new workflow adoption in a high-stakes public service environment.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Cyber Security, or comparable qualification at Master's level
Experience
- Professional experience in Information Security and Data Protection standards (BSI, ISO 27001)
