Job Summary

This role seeks a skilled Data Engineer to join Tipico, Germany's leading sports betting provider, in Karlsruhe. You will play a pivotal role in deploying, maintaining, and governing real-time data pipelines and the overall data lake architecture. A core responsibility involves overseeing the implementation of an enterprise data mesh architecture, enabling decentralized ownership while maintaining organizational consistency and governance. Day-to-day tasks include building and maintaining both batch (ETL) and real-time data pipelines using SQL and AWS cloud technologies, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams like architects and product managers to achieve organizational goals. The ideal candidate brings at least three years of relevant experience, deep knowledge of AWS services (S3, EMR, Lambda, etc.), infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, and familiarity with event streaming ecosystems like Kafka, Flink, and Spark.
