Job Summary

This role involves comprehensive project management and client representation for new construction, conversion, and expansion projects focused on technical building and utility systems within hospital and laboratory settings, often requiring work during ongoing operations. The Project Manager will be responsible for assessing existing systems, developing renewal concepts, and creating phase-out strategies. Key day-to-day tasks include overseeing construction execution by external firms, coordinating internal and external service providers, managing project cost tracking, and handling final project invoicing. The ideal candidate possesses a degree in Utility Engineering (or equivalent) or is a Master Craftsman/Technician with substantial relevant professional experience. Success requires strong project management skills, familiarity with public procurement regulations (HOAI/VOB), expertise in building services (HVAC, plumbing), and a high degree of organizational talent and client focus.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Utility Engineering (Diplom-Ingenieur (FH), Master, or Bachelor), or Master Craftsman/Technician with relevant professional experience, or comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in planning and project work for new construction and conversion measures (desirable)
  • Experience in creating tender documents, bid evaluation, and contract negotiations
  • Experience in leading external firms and contractual partners
  • Foundational knowledge and experience in Controlling, Business Administration, and Cost Planning
  • Knowledge and project experience in Building Automation, M&C (Measurement and Control) and Electrical Engineering (desirable)
