Job Summary
This full-time, permanent position within the Toxicology Department of the Leibniz Research Centre in Dortmund focuses on investigating the molecular and cellular causes of neurotoxic effects using advanced in vitro and ex vivo models. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing various neurotoxicity assays, developing and establishing new cell systems (including 2D, 3D spheroids, and mixed cultures), and implementing cutting-edge biotechnological methods such as RAMAN Spectroscopy and 2-Photon Microscopy. A key part of the role involves the independent processing, quantification, and analysis of complex research data using image processing software, managing SOPs, and contributing to scientific publications. This role requires a qualified Biology Laboratory Technician with experience in neuronal cell cultures, standard biotechnological assays (qRT-PCR, Western Blot), and excellent English skills, offering a dynamic environment for professional development in interdisciplinary research.

Education
Completed training as a Biology Laboratory Technician or comparable qualification
Experience
- Professional experience with neuronal cell cultures, cell lines, and primary rodent neuron cultures
- Experience with biotechnological methods like qRT-PCR, Western Blot, ELISA, IHC staining, and confocal microscopy
- Experience working with the image processing and analysis software arivis from Zeiss
- Experience with Ca2+-Imaging or other electrophysiological methods (MEA) OR willingness to acquire these skills
