Job Summary

This role is for an experienced Project Manager specializing in Electrical Engineering for significant rail infrastructure projects within the Southern Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate regions of Germany. The Project Manager will lead and technically guide all project phases, focusing on the renewal of signaling, telecommunications, and electrical systems (STE) in major areas like Mainz, Koblenz, Darmstadt, and Frankfurt. Key responsibilities include comprehensive project steering, managing costs, schedules, and quality, overseeing contract management (including change requests), securing necessary planning approvals, and coordinating all stakeholders. This position requires deep expertise in electrical engineering systems, particularly within railway operations, and offers the opportunity to actively contribute to modernizing Germany's critical infrastructure and climate protection efforts.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master/Diploma) in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a similar technical field, or relevant technical training in railway operations.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in project management of infrastructure projects
  • Experience in planning electrotechnical trades OR professional experience in maintenance in the field of control and safety technology (e.g., as District Manager or Railway Construction Supervisor)
  • Experience with electrical systems ranging from power to communication and control/safety technology
  • Applied knowledge of project management software (MS Project, iTWO, or similar)
