Job Summary
This Research Fellow position in Experimental Biophysics offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge neuroscience research within the prestigious NeuroCure Cluster of Excellence in Berlin and Jena. The core focus is on advancing light-activated ion channels (Channelrhodopsins) for neuronal applications. Daily responsibilities include conducting sophisticated experimental biophysics, utilizing electrical single-channel recording, molecular engineering, and potentially Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulation techniques. The role requires a completed scientific university degree in the life sciences, coupled with deep knowledge of molecular biology and proven experience in electrophysiology. Candidates should also be proficient in data analysis software and possess a very good command of English. This position is attractive as it provides an excellent international and interdisciplinary environment, offering scope for personal scientific qualification, such as pursuing a PhD.
