Job Summary

This role is for an ambitious Master Electrician or Electrical Engineering Technician to join MITNETZ STROM, a major regional distribution grid operator in Eastern Germany, focusing on securing the power supply and preparing the grid for the energy future. The professional will be responsible for the operational control and monitoring of medium-voltage and high-voltage electricity networks, utilizing a modern network control system. Day-to-day tasks involve executing scheduled switching operations, swiftly isolating faults, performing independent analyses, and ensuring voltage stability, especially with high levels of decentralized power feeds. This critical function requires participation in a 24/7, 3-shift operation (early, late, and night shifts) and regular on-call duty. Successful candidates must have relevant electrical engineering qualifications, ideally experience in network control, and a high degree of analytical skill and initiative. A mandatory 12-month training period in the operational control center is provided to prepare the incumbent for full responsibility.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering or comparable vocational training in energy technology, supplemented by qualification as a Master Electrician or Technician.

Experience

  • Professional experience in network control (ideally)
  • Possession of a switching authorization (30kV or 110kV) (ideally)
  • 12-month mandatory training phase in operational control center (provided)
