Job Summary

This PhD position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the pioneering field of “Distributed Metrology,” focusing specifically on developing novel gas sensor concepts under the exclusive Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Professur program at the Institute of Semiconductor Technology (IHT). The successful candidate will primarily conduct experimental research, designing, fabricating, and testing new gas control solutions integrated into gas/chemical microsensors to significantly enhance data quality. Key tasks involve defining and assembling experimental set-ups and miniaturizing promising solutions into microdevices. This fixed-term, 4-year role (TV-L E13, 75%) provides the framework for pursuing a doctorate and includes the significant benefit of research stays at the University of Barcelona, ensuring strong international exposure and collaboration with world-class experts in clean-room processing, micro-nano metrology, and quantum technology.
