Job Summary

This role is a 36-month, part-time (65%) Research Associate position at the Biochemical Institute of Kiel University, focused on a DFG-funded project investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating glycosylation in the Golgi apparatus. The successful candidate, who will be a doctoral candidate, will specifically examine the molecular regulation of SPPL3 activity and the processing of Golgi enzymes, initially using cellular models and later animal models. Day-to-day work involves applying a broad spectrum of methods including cloning, genome editing, immunoblotting, flow cytometry, high-resolution microscopy, and proteomic/terminomic analyses.
