PhD Student in Tumor Immunology and Gut Microbiome Research | PhD Student in the field of Tumor Immunology and Gut Microbiome
Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum
Job Summary
The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) is seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join the Clinical Cooperation Unit 'Applied Tumor Immunity.' This role focuses on investigating how gut microbiota influence resistance to immunotherapy and chemotherapy in colorectal cancer (CRC). The successful candidate will be integral to a multidisciplinary team, designing and conducting experiments, integrating multi-omics datasets (metabolomics, flow cytometry, multiplex imaging), and performing high-throughput in vitro and in vivo studies using organoid and preclinical models. Key responsibilities include data analysis, comprehensive literature reviews, and assisting in writing scientific papers and presenting findings at international conferences. This position requires a Master's degree in a relevant field (Immunology, Cancer Biology, Microbiology) and a strong background in molecular and cellular biology techniques. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research within a high-profile international consortium, aiming to identify novel therapeutic targets to overcome microbiome-driven immune suppression.
