Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a computational biologist to join the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and the Precision Sarcoma Research Group in Heidelberg. The role is central to the 5-year BMBF-funded DECIPHER-M consortium, focusing on transforming cancer metastasis understanding through multimodal Artificial Intelligence Foundation Models. The successful candidate will develop and implement advanced computational pipelines for analyzing and integrating spatial multi-omics and other large-scale datasets, and design and fine-tune machine learning and deep learning models to predict metastatic behavior. This interdisciplinary position requires strong expertise in bioinformatics, cancer biology, and programming (R, Python). The scientist will collaborate closely with molecular biologists, pathologists, and oncologists, lead collaborative initiatives, mentor team members, and contribute significantly to high-impact publications and international conferences, translating pioneering scientific discovery into benefits for human health.
