Job Summary

This role is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated scientist to join a leading research group at Kiel University, focusing on the synthesis, characterization, and application of Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs). The successful candidate will primarily pursue a doctoral degree, concentrating on developing new Al- and Zr-MOFs for small molecule adsorption, separation, and sensing. Day-to-day tasks involve applying a novel high-throughput synthesis pathway for Al-MOFs, systematically varying reaction conditions, and characterizing new compounds using advanced methods, particularly X-ray diffraction. The position requires independent laboratory work, strong collaboration within an international team, and includes a minor teaching commitment (2 LVS). This fixed-term, part-time position (50%) is ideal for a chemist with a specialization in Inorganic Chemistry and experience in synthetic chemistry and crystallographic characterization methods.
