Job Summary

The Albrecht von Haller Institute for Plant Sciences at the University of Göttingen is seeking a skilled Biological Laboratory Technician to join an international team focusing on the complex cellular interaction between model plants and phytopathogenic bacteria and fungi. This part-time, fixed-term position (70% working hours) requires expertise in applying molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology methods. Day-to-day responsibilities include essential laboratory tasks such as preparing buffers and media, executing advanced molecular work like cloning, genotyping, and expression analysis, and performing biochemical techniques, including protein isolation and Western Blotting. A key aspect of the role involves plant transformation, selection of transgenic lines, and the cultivation of plant material and pests. Candidates must possess completed vocational training as a Biological-Technical Assistant (BTA) with a focus on molecular analytics, excellent German language skills, and proven experience with plant and microbial cultivation and transformation techniques.
