Job Summary

This role involves serving as the critical technical backbone for field engineers and product support personnel within the Global Products Group, focusing on advanced etch and deposition products for the semiconductor industry. The engineer will be responsible for providing high-quality on-site repair, maintenance, and analytical troubleshooting of complex electro-mechanical systems down to the component level. Key daily activities include diagnosing, debugging, and resolving equipment malfunctions, performing installations/relocations, and minimizing system downtime for valued customers. Candidates must possess a technical education (HTL/Bachelor level) in electronics or engineering, substantial professional experience, including specific expertise in semiconductor equipment and clean-technology products. This demanding position requires frequent international travel (up to 80%) to locations including Asia and the USA, demanding adaptability and strong independent problem-solving skills.

Required Skills

Education

Technical education in electronics, engineering, or applicable field of study (HTL/Bachelor equivalent)

Experience

  • 10+ years of overall work experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in the semiconductor industry
  • Professional experience in on-site repair and maintenance service
  • Experience working from electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams
  • Experience in planning, management, and execution of limited scope projects

Additional

  • Able to travel frequently (80%) internationally, including to Asia and USA. Must be able to work rapidly for prolonged periods of time, including bending, stooping, reaching, walking, sitting, and standing.
