Job Summary
The City Administration of Alzey is seeking a dedicated IT System Administrator to join their Central Services department. This role is crucial for maintaining and advancing the city's IT infrastructure, covering everything from user support and hardware/software maintenance to strategic planning and IT security. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing 2nd-level support, configuring and maintaining Microsoft and Linux server systems (including DHCP, DNS, AD, and Exchange), managing network infrastructure and firewalls, and overseeing virtualized environments, backup/restore processes, and mobile device management. The ideal candidate will have a relevant university degree or vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration, coupled with professional experience in virtualization, Active Directory, and network security. This position offers a stable, full-time, permanent contract in the public sector, providing a modern workplace, flexible hours, and opportunities for professional development.

Education
Completed relevant university degree (e.g., Bachelor) in Administrative Informatics or Computer Science, OR completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration
Experience
- Professional experience in IT System Administration (Desired)
- Knowledge in virtualization technologies, Citrix, Active-Directory, Exchange, Windows Server, Linux, Firewalling, and License Management (Advantageous)
