Job Summary
This role involves the autonomous establishment, leadership, and continuous development of the IT Service Center department within the central administration of the Diocese of Eichstätt. The Head of Department will be responsible for defining operational standards, planning and overseeing all IT Service Center projects—including budgeting, resource allocation, and feasibility studies—and ensuring the smooth, uninterrupted operation of the center. A key component of the role is strategic and operational goal setting, cross-departmental collaboration, and reporting to IT management. Furthermore, the position requires managing and developing the team, handling conflict resolution, planning qualifications, and coordinating IT contracts and external service providers. Candidates should possess a degree in Computer Science or a relevant professional qualification, strong analytical skills, and proven leadership ability to thrive in this strategic, part-time (19.5 hours/week) position.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (BA/Dipl.-FH) in Computer Science, or completed training as an IT Specialist with specialized further education, or similar qualification.
Experience
- Minimum three years of leadership experience (desirable)
- Professional experience in building and developing service departments
- Experience in IT project planning and oversight
