Job Summary
This role involves managing the full lifecycle of IT assets and services for the City of Siegen administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for procurement and contract management, ensuring compliance with legal and internal regulations while focusing on economic efficiency. Key daily tasks include coordinating existing IT contracts, monitoring deadlines, and actively participating in the development and retirement of services within the Service Portfolio Management framework. A core component of the job is building and maintaining a central IT Asset and Configuration Management system, automating routine tasks, defining KPIs, and supporting financial planning. This position requires strong organizational skills, IT affinity, and the ability to combine technical requirements with administrative processes, making it ideal for a detail-oriented professional seeking a meaningful role in public service.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Administrative Informatics, or a comparable field; OR completed vocational training as an IT Merchant or other training with a commercial focus; OR successful completion of the administrative career path examination (equivalent to former senior service); OR successfully completed Angestellten-/ Verwaltungslehrgang II (Administrative Training Course II).
Experience
- Professional experience in IT procurement, contract management, and asset management is beneficial
- Motivation to learn and internalize public procurement law (Vergaberecht)
- Experience ensuring careful documentation of procurement procedures
