Biologist (PhD Opportunity) | Biologe (m/w/d)
Osnabrück University
Job Summary
This role involves participating in a DFG-funded research project focused on synergistic coevolution within microbial consortia at Osnabrück University. The successful candidate will conduct long-term coevolution experiments, generate and characterize bacterial mutants, and perform coculture experiments to determine bacterial fitness. Key responsibilities include analyzing bacterial cluster formation using fluorescence microscopy, investigating single-cell bacteria via microfluidics and flow cytometry, and quantifying amino acid production using mass spectrometry. The position requires a Master's degree in biology or a related field, practical experience with microbiological techniques, and excellent written and spoken English. This is an exciting opportunity to pursue a PhD within an international research team, utilizing state-of-the-art infrastructure while contributing to highly topical evolutionary biology research.
