Job Summary
This role involves supporting the digital transformation efforts of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation (SPK) by focusing on 3D digitization processes. The specialist will analyze and document 3D digitization workflows, conceptualize and implement software-based solutions, and develop automated data pipelines for managing 3D digital assets. A key responsibility is designing, evaluating, and implementing a central online repository using web-based 3D viewers and interfaces for presenting and providing 3D models. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Media Informatics, Digital Humanities, or a related field, possesses programming skills in languages like JavaScript/TypeScript, and has experience with web technologies, 3D visualization frameworks (e.g., Babylon.js, Angular, MongoDB), and API development. This is a crucial position contributing to the establishment of a central 3D digitization service within one of the world's largest cultural institutions.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (Master, Magister, Diplom univ. or equivalent) in Media Informatics, Digital Humanities, Creative Technologies, or a comparable relevant field
Experience
- Professional experience in software-side support of 3D digitization projects
- Experience in data preparation, workflow optimization, and interface integration
- Experience with web-based 3D repositories (e.g., kompakkt)
- Knowledge of requirements for 3D models for online presentation via viewer systems and web portals

- The position is temporary (fixed-term) for 2.5 years. It is a part-time role requiring 19.5 hours per week. The position is located in Berlin (Fürstenwalder Damm 388 and other SPK locations).
