Job Summary

This role is for a Research Associate specializing in materials, with a primary focus on sodium-ion batteries, at the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Battery Cell Production (FFB) in Germany. The successful candidate will be instrumental in a research project centered on producing electrode pastes using innovative mixing technology. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing pilot-scale mixing experiments for sodium-ion battery pastes, analyzing and evaluating paste and electrode quality, and coordinating research content with project partners. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of modern, scalable battery cell production for Germany and Europe, potentially leading to a doctorate, and involves supervising student theses and assistants. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Diploma, Master) in Chemistry, Physics, Process Engineering, Materials Science, or Engineering Sciences, or comparable field. Doctoral interest is a plus.

Experience

  • Initial experience in the battery context is preferred
  • Professional experience in planning and conducting mixing experiments
  • Experience in analyzing and evaluating paste and electrode quality
